Is 58; Mt 6:16-18; 9:14-17. Dan Kroon. Why don’t we fast anymore? Should Christians practice fasting? What purpose does it serve? Unlike the discipline of prayer, fasting is addressed only a handful of times in the New Testament. Because of this, it is a practice that some Christians engage in and some don’t. Some do it regularly and some very rarely. So, as people living in the freedom of grace, what should be our approach to fasting? This is the first question we’ll consider in our 'request series', considering the different reasons for fasting and whether they are still relevant to us today.
